I’m strumming, and humming

Playing to these broken chords

Enjoying, just trying

To write a song with simple words…

But still I’m failing,

Sounding like a broken recording

Can you imagine,

Singing like a fool all the time

 

I’m watching, still waiting

Maybe someday she’ll come around

My heart is, still hurting

Broken from the day she was found…

But still I’m hoping,

Mending from a broken heart

Can you imagine,

Living like a fool all the time

 

Because these broken chords,

Just like my broken heart

It takes a while to learn…

There was a day, right from the start

I came to say, what’s in my heart

But here today, I’m all alone

Trying to play, these broken chords

I just can’t take them apart

Because they made this broken song…
